Seriously though maybe put him near a girl to get him excited??? I know if I separate my male quail (he is in the cage right next to his mate) that he crows like crazy and will mate anything you put in the cage including another male or even my hand...

But if I put him outside all alone he has no interest in attacking my hand when I go to feed him...

Of course he is always frisky and loves the ladies so it doesn't take much to excite him...

Can you use a coturnix male to a chicken hen? those coturnix males would be easy to collect from.
