I have an idea- callin g all BYC regulars...

I am still new to chickens but I do try and answer the questions I can, I usually answer the ones that do not have many replies to just to offer some advice or a place to start searching maybe bump it up so some one with more knowledge will see it, I know that with all the new post each day sometimes post can and do get lost in the shuffle. I will try and answer more post and thanks for the info on the unanswered post never knew about this so I will try and do my best to help...

Me too. This was the first and only forum I've ever participated in, so I needed a long time to figure out how to word questions and make friends.

I agree very much it is all about how it is worded. Often when I post I find myself re-reading over and over before I hit submit and I usually end up editing 4 or 5 times before I feel it is okay to put it out there. We have to remember that the whole world can see what we type not just a few folks. I try to keep my opinions to myself and only offer up facts or my own experiences.

I try to Help as much as i can too. Especially in the disease section.
I will try to do it even more too.
Great Idea

You got it...

I'm going to enjoy my time in the Ramblings area, but do enjoy discussing chickens!

I always feel bad though because I bring it up to the top of the page which may make others not get their questions answered.

Well...I feel like a moron.

I just went back to page 754 and answered questions that I thought were only 2 days old...wound up being 3 years old.

no, really. I come to this site BECAUSE it makes me feel so normal on the byc bell curve!

You and the others keep me laughing and cindiloohoo's pic's are the best! Otherwise I would have left long ago, but my need for you all to keep me laughing is greater than my need to hide when some one snaps at me.
By the way, the first time I came to this BYC site, I read all of the rules. and one of them was 'no trolling 'and another was 'do not feed the trolls'. I try to remember that.
and Debiraymond is right, besides google, the report button is your friend.

Helping others is wonderful, but please don't go and answer unanswered posts from more than a week or so.

We have seen a rise of old 2 year old threads resurrected for no other reason than they were unanswered.

Then the staff gets a ton of reports and we have to go and deal with it.

So if you must dredge up old posts, please use common sense and leave the old dusty ones alone.

Things that are no longer relevant need to be left alone. It will get reasked sooner or later.

Great idea! I'll try to do more (and will have more time to as soon as this L.O.R.E. project wraps up!) and remember, it's fine to post to someone suggesting kindly that the issue has been addressed many times on threads in the past and that a search on "X issue" should yield many hits.

If I can give a good answer, I try to reply to unanswered posts.
It seemed sort of weird to me that there were people that had bad experiences when I have always felt this was such a welcoming place.
Maybe its the growth? But I still think this can be a wonderful forum for everyone to enjoy.
