I Have an Infestation!

This is the first time for these gals to go broody. Oh, wait, I had one back in December who went broody.

Yeah, her name is Cardboard Chicken. She was dislodged during shipment and ended up in a corner of the shipping box with cardboard burns on her skin. She is Stan's current favorite.

Out of 24 chickens.... no big broody yet..

They all just ask for hand-fed food.

Other times they'll coo and SIT on the broodies. And then, sometimes they'll actually go broody!

You don't want to! He went broody until my hen hatched her chicks.

He wasn't allowed to go in with them, so he decided to make his nest on the ground between a piece of boards. He did the growling and pecked and didn't want to move. And we'd come home at night and he'd still be there.

Then when he saw the "hatched" (they actually came from the feed store and we put them under the hen) he started acting like a dad, offering random objects like: shavings/leaves/rocks to these chicks. They watched him, but the ran around, because they were Leghorns.

When you said that he wasn't allowed to go in with them , that kind of sounds like the days when expectant dads weren't allowed in the delivery rooms.

Funny post.
