I, too, didn't think they were known for being broody, that was one of the reasons I selected this breed. But I guess they didn't read the breed standard.

The one you mention being so flat is in her second week of being broody. The longer she broods the flatter she gets. She is eating, though, as her crop does have food in it.

I heard Stan singing the egg song today. Loud. Very loud. But when I approached the coop he ran out as if he wasn't doing a thing. Then Little Sister chased him across the yard.
