Hello! I recently became a new member here, i decided to join after reading some of your experiences. We live in town so i hadnt planned on raising chickens - but the end of May my daughter came home with four chicks... We now have 10 & we are hooked! We survived a dog attack & was able to save a beautiful barred rock with a broken wing & hip with a large gaping wound by following advice from your posts we learned to slowly introduce her back into the flock after her wound had healed.. thank you all!

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

So glad BYC was of use to you in saving your injured bird. Chickens seem to have great recuperative powers - if they don't go into shock or wounds don't get infected.

We had no idea where to even begin, she couldn't eat or drink with out help it was heartbreaking..
