You could try Dlhunicorn's homemade pedialyte recipe & give it to them here are two of them from threads past....
HTH
here is a recipe for a homemade Ringers solution from a rehabber (you do need salt substitute though):

1 1/4 teasoon sodium chloride (NaCl, common salt)

1 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)

rounded 1/2 teaspoon potassium chloride (commonly called "Muriate of Potash" >>>Salt substitutes contain mostly potassium chloride)

2 tablespoons glucose (a common source is corn syrup)

add above to 1/2 gallon water

If you do not have that then you can make your own emergency electrolyte solution:
(emergency electrolyte solution WHO):
1 cup of water
2 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp baking soda
(make fresh daily)

Sandra, please post the ages and symptoms. Are you losing both chicks and ducks? How old are they - what are you feeding them - why are you giving them sugar water and mylanta?

They have diarreaha.I got them from some one else. The chicks, but I got the ducks from a poultry ahtchery.I lost 2 guienas, and now I lost 2 little chicks. But I giive them some Diluted Mylanta. And they act better. They don`t have worms.I have looked and looked. But it is like white in their poop. The food I am giving them is starter crumbles. And i thought I would change them to some of the above, pedialyte.I got to check on them though, brb. Thanks so much.Let me know,ok THe ducks will be 1 wk.Friday.The chicks was about the same age

How long have you been giving them sugar water? That can actually cause diarreah. Give them Poly-Vi-Sol (Liquid baby vitamins) either by directly putting a drop or two on side of beak, or by adding a few dropper fulls to a shallow dish of water. The poultry vitamin/electrolyte solution might help also. Also, try feeding them some scrambled egg. Chicks and ducks that are only one week old would not have worms. Could be shipping stress or could be whatever the prior person was feeding them. Keep them warm, under a heat lamp, and add the vitamins and/or electrolytes to their water. Eliminate sugar water, that is just to pep them up if sluggish from shipping.

I recently had some chicks start to die off.

i brought there waterer inside and bleached it and also put it up higher to make sure they couldn't walk all over same with their feed. I added some apple cider vinegar and some Vet Rx to there water. I also sprinkled a lil of the Vet Rx in there litter. So far I've not lost anymore chicks. It seemed to perk them all up too.

Help,It looks like this little duck is going down hill. And I have apple cider vinegar, but not the vet stuff. And I have bleached down everything.I don`t know what to do.I have them on the Horse Beddind pellets for the odor.I would not think it was that. The man at the feed mill said it works great.Should I put soem more of the homemade remedy in there. And just sit it up on something taller. So it don`t get poo in there.I am getting very upset.,Sandra

sorry to here that you are having a hard time , but is there cedar shavings in the bedding? if so that will hurt chicks. hope they get better william

William,no it is pine pellets. When I rake them up they crumble and soak up the wet and poo. What do u give yours. If they have runny poo. I hate this.I have used clorox on all of their things.Any info any body???? Thanks so much,Sandra Oh if you see a place I have missed about the date let em know,so I can change it.Thanks so much and help me spread the word!!!!
