I have no idea what I am doing

Pics
I use a red..175 watt heat lamp and brood in totes....mine clamps on and I can adjust the temp as needed...I never follow any set temp...I go by how the Ducklings are reacting inside the Brooder.....:frow

I use a 175 red bulb or my Brinsea brooder plate, but I totally agree with adjusting for the duckling. They are all different! The 5 degree adjustment per week means diddly squat to me. :D

I strongly suggest you use a heating pad instead of the lamp. I would go ahead and get one without auto shut off. a) it will feel more cuddly to the ling b) natural day/night light cycle. c)less concern about overheating/fire risk. The Mama Heating Pad brooder is very easy to make. I got my heat pad a Wallgreens for 20 -30 dls. Very easy to make with materials usually on hand!:D:D

Previously sent you a link to @Blooie 's Thread on this.
Im sorry I cant find the link you sent. can you please send it again?

the Duck Diapers for when baby goes to work with you?

But we shouldn't laugh. Many folks do it. There is a whole thread here for House Ducks. I would guess Steven will be a resident there very soon. :D

So did we take our duck/egg to work today or stay home?

(Steven, I sincerely hope you aren't offended by me teasing you. I love what you are doing and wish you the most sincere luck in the world!)

Please keep it coming I love all of the advice and jokes. This is the only thing that has gotten me through to this point. I would not have been able to get this far without the advice and support and we all need a good chuckle every now and then. So thank you again
