It is 53 hours since the internal pip and 29 hours since the external pip (shell only)

29 hours is still within normal range.

This is not a Call duck. Its only at 29 hours since external pip.

Also never count hours unless it becomes so apparent that something is not progressing as it probably should ?.....

No....Not a Call....Although standard Ducks hatch quicker and being it is a Mallard it should be fast too....

Yes, hours do count. All I'm saying is that ducks other than Calls, it is very much normal for them to stay pipped and not progress for 40+ hours. They are still absorbing yolk. I'm going from personal experience and from Storey's Guide on Raising Ducks.

No, mallard derived ducks take longer.
