I have no idea what I am doing

Evening all. We tried for a little splashing fun but as with everything Lucky does it was way more than I could handle. With only about half an inch of water I held his little feet in it to get him used to it and he wanted out of my hands I put him in and he seemed ok and was splashing a little with his beak so I let him go and he dove head first under the water and zoomed from one side of the Pyrex dish to the other. I grabbed him and let him relax for a min and tried it again and he did the same thing. A bit too much for my taste. Not sure if he wanted to do that or just freaked. My guess is he meant to lol. I can't believe the energy
Maybe you can remove his batteries when you need a rest. I wish I had that kind of energy.

Does your Farm Store have any ducklings or can they order you some asap or maybe the Duck Whisperer has some he could lend, did you get his contacts?
I just don't think I'm equipped for more ducklings. Just the one is enough for me lol. I just thought it would be easier if They were passed the heating stage. I'm guessing it's a bad idea to keep him alone?

Depends, if you are prepared to be his companion he will probably be happy without other ducks. Maybe he becomes a service duck and does nursing home visits for example. You never know I guess, for sure he will continue to surprise you. What does @Ravynscroft say?

If he doesn't get socialized soon he may not identify other ducks as suitable mates.

If you did try to get more I would only get 1 or 2.

And its not like you'd have to incubate them!! That was the hard part;)

Yep just a couple more, but soon. And see my signature for a simple way to do electric fencing on the coop it self. That way they are safe at night.

You could get a couple-three more and keep them inside with Lucky for the moment while you decide on coop. There is time for that. That is what I would do, anyway. Get a bigger coop than you think you would need...a small garden shed with a window could work well...and fit in with your landscaping. You would tweak it for the ducks of course!

Hey duck people! Post pics of your duck coops for suggestions! (I have no idea, only knowing chickens!)
