I have no idea what I am doing

I went to a local lake here and watched ducks at play . Interesting how they are so social, and amazing swimmers. But not too agile walking on dry land. And they did eat some meal worms I brought. How did I know? Go figure !

Happy Duck, how do you go about preventing them from laying every day ?

Honestly don't try to prevent them from laying. They will take a break when they need one.

Hi friends. We have a little issues I need some advice with. Lucky started laying again the middle of March and as always she lays her egg and goes on her merry way without a care. This morning she laid and egg and has been on it all day. Couldn’t get her off of it even for worms and she is nasty as anything. What do I do? Do I just go take it from her? We are not having babies but I also don’t want her hating us. Also if she is broody how can I break It?

Break her broodiness. Chickens, like God, will have unconditional love for you.
Gotta soak her in shallow cool water to cool down her broody behavior.

She may stay broody for a while and sulk. . but the longer you leave the eggs under her the worse it will get.
Rip it off like a bandaid.

Some more advice needed I desperately want to put some fertilizer down their outdoor run is already large and contained and I can keep them off of the grass for an extended period of time if necessary I’ve heard the organic stuff doesn’t work on the lawn at all is it safe to use regular fertilizer as long as they’re kept off the grass

As luck would have it we decided to go out there and take the egg and she was off the egg and in the pond. Mike ran to get the egg while I dug up worms lmao. Thanks again. Just took this pic for you
