I agree in part that the "Lack" of inflection in the written word can create a lot of problems, even with "smilies". (Different people interpret different smilies to convey different meanings.)
Something a person may mean in a kidding way, can be taken as snide; or a straightforward questions can be taken as an "Are you so dense you didn't even think about ---------?!"
Goattalker - (And I'm gonna use this since you and I were on both threads)
when I asked about the joint meds, your reply struck me as "Are you so clueless that you'd buy dogs that are broken/worthless?!" Even though re-reading it later I realized that probably wasn't what you meant.
I asked about a specific subject, and it makes me nuts (pet peeve) when people go off and give me advice on other things, not related to what I asked.
I will be the first to admit, I can get off track, too; and I hope that if I step on someone's toes they'll say something.
I think disagreeing on a subject is fine, especially if you can provide verifiable facts, or state clearly that something is ONLY YOUR OPINION. Big difference between the 2. Doesn't mean I won't listen to something that is someone's opinion, but I am not going to weigh it quite the same way that I would a verifiable 'fact'.
So, with that being said, ya'll can take my post and do as you'd like:
