I have questions!!!

I just use hamster shavings lol. I extremely recommend Orpingtons they are so sweet and good egg layers. Also don't keep it the, in the brooder all their days as chicks, let them outside to get a feeling for it. I put mine in the coop when they were about a month old. Oh and make sure you have chicken wire on the ground around the coop because animals tend to dig under:/

I got 9 silver laced wyandotte's today, beautiful chickens!! Have any suggestions to keep them alive as chicks? They are doing great so far lol

I got my chicks today and I believe they are about three days old, I have yet to see poop, what's going on?

New chick poop is very tiny, about the size of sparrow poop, and you may not be seeing it because it's fallen below the bedding material. In a few more days, they'll be producing cecal poops, and trust me on this, you'll notice that!

I went out today to fix my run up, and I am eaten up with ticks. Will my chickens eat the ticks? Or will they get on them also? And before I put my chickens outside what can I put on the ground for ticks?

Ticks are my hens main sorce of food! They eat them up! Hey also eat chiggers! Just another wonderful reason to have chickens! :)
