I have to talk POLISH!

seminolewind Looks like the vote is female ! Congratulations on a funky pullet ! Who needs another male chicken, Not me, so I am happy for you.

Well , Flower, she was the only egg that hatched in 10 that were supposed to be Crele-project. But I don't think was even a project bird. She looks like a regular , not very attractive GLP. The seller must drink, LOL.

I really did want to her to be a roo when she was born. I had been trying to hatch a roo for my girls since last early summer, and something always went wrong. But now I have a Tolbunt roo, who can live here, but he's kindof nutty.

But 3 weeks ago I had a real nice hatch:

I'm seeing good things here. And I have 6 more hatching tonight from someone else, so I feel like it's a good base.

Why yes, you sure did get a nice hatch! Looking forward to seeing the brand new ones too!

Yes they do look like a good healthy bunch of punkers !

I have a hatch due next week that I am eagerly awaiting. I have had poor results but this looks more promising, at least the shipped eggs look good.

Luckies ;) We haven't had any hatches for months. Our hen is sitting right now but it doesn't look promising she is spending a little to much time off the nest for the temperature. We'll wait and see I guess. Hopefully we can find someone with new lines of Polish so if any of you have SQ Polish we'd be interested just drop me a line ;)

I'm very surprised at the health of these punkers! It's a great thing considering the inbreeding involved up till now. These are sturdy little things. At 2.5 weeks, they were already coming off their heat lamp. I think the nights were 70's at the time, now it's warmer, and they'll be needing a fan!

Can you tell the sex of a Polish at 4 weeks? I can pretty much tell with all my other chicks that are the same age, but I don't have a clue with the Polish and have never had them before.

Polish are hard to sex. I think my last year's batch, I couldn't tell til 10 weeks or more. Sometimes you get a few that are easy , and then there's those who keep you fooled right up till they crow or lay an egg.
Post the pictures here, with all of us guessing, there's a 50/50 chance we'll be right.

Yes a 50/50

Anyway, they are hard to sex thats why I really hate hatching eggs. The adorable puffs are cute but I hate getting to many roosters and I have a hard time getting rid of them. Even at swaps it's amazing how no one wants them :hmm
