Some how my daughter talked me into 2 of these chicks. Here they are.

My broody, well, she has a separate nest, but they all squeeze in there anyway! She had 3 eggs laid under her today, LOL.

I don't know if they make good moms. But I can't find out now because I've hatched enough for one year. No more hatches this year. She does come out for treat time, then eats and drinks.
Silkies are the best. I have 3 girls that will sit all summer, and then some. Sometimes poor Struedel, my roo, looks so lonely.

I have 2 silkies aswell so maybe next year I can try and hatch a few. I am sure I have a roo in my bunch but I am not for sure. Time will tell that one.

Hi Polish-fans,

I have never had a polish before, but hatched out some purchased eggs this weekend. The chicks are supposed to be large fowl white polish. I expected them to be solid white or solid yellow, but they came out with black splotches on the face and some bluish "blush" over the breast and belly.

What color are these really? Are they whites?

Doubt it's a white. Whites are truly born pure white, although in some breeds they aren't, however my last white Polish were. Probably is a White Crested Splash or some sort of cross, as it is rare next to impossible to find a bearded white crested blue or splash. Very nice crest!!

I hatched out two Golden Laced Polish for my wife. I tell you of all the chicks that I have in our brooder (about 30) these two are the most laid back. They kind of act like the antics that go on with the others are beneath them. They are cute but these two are boring lol.
