So glad I found this thread. I got my first Polish hen last fall. I had always admired the breed, but I am in love with the breed now. Since getting my first Gold-laced hen, a few months ago I added a WC Black Pullet, Self Blue Pullet, WC Blue Pullet, Several Tolbunt Pullets and a Tolbunt cockerel and will be adding Silver-laced to the group in July.

My husband thinks I have gone Polish crazy, which I guess I have but they have the best personalities and are so beautiful. I even bought a seperate coop and built them their own run. They are truely my babies.

They were one of 2 breeds that I started with, and they are still my #1's 5 YEARS later.

Hey guys!
When I placed my order with McMurray, they threw in a free, unsexed, exotic chick. Of course, I was assuming it would be one of the not-so-cool exotics, but I was wrong... We figured out that we have what seems to be a Silver Polish.
Unforunately..it hates me. I mean honestly, almost all 15 chicks in my brooder come running when I bring out the yogurt. This one stays in the corner and gives me the stink eye. And every time I pick it up, it screams like I'm killing it! BUT today it did let me hold it, without complaining, for the first time. So that's good, right?
Since this little thing was straight run, we obviously don't know if it's a boy or a girl. At what age will I be able to tell?

Here's a couple pictures...It is a week old now.

I'm "guessing" pullet because it already has tail feathers.

We have a Tolbunt pair and Gold Laced split hen already, but are interested in the White Crested Polish too.

We ordered 10 chicks from Dick Horstman but didn't have much luck with them and have four left at 2.5 weeks. We are not sure what went wrong with them because they were in a brooder with other chicks we hatched at the same time they were shipped with us, so we assume they were just being picked on. (They are now separate from our other chicks.) Are there any other breeders willing to ship ideally chicks or as a second option eggs? We tried looking at the Polish Breeders site but couldn't find a list.

I sell eggs for bantam WC Polish and Tolbunt Polish. Have a Tolbunt auction going and a BIN for the WC Polish in my signature.

My Top Hats came in this morning. Wife watered them and put them in the brooder. Can't wait to get home to see what I got.

my first ever successful hatch-ebay eggs 6 of eight! successful in an incubator that is after a few failed attempts. I have never had polish and find these adorable. The little cone heads stomped around like frankenstien on the wire of the incubator. This is them at 24 hours. The top photo was the last hatched and feet have since uncurled. I foresee a larger enclosure by |Sunday!

Sure there are solid white Polish. Looks like a roo to me. Would hate to see wattles like that on a hen.....lol
