I have to talk POLISH!

How about eggs? I have my 4 in a grow out coop with smaller chicks because the one still gets plucked bald. I moved all the other big chicks out because they were the ones doing the plucking, but my Polish are getting big at 3.5 months old. Naturally the largest is the one being plucked. Whats up with that?

So when Should I expect them to star laying?

They will normaly start laying at 6 months

Do you still think this one is a pullet? This is the poor baby that they keep plucking bald if you see the purple spray. I moved the turkey poults out so hopefully that will help. I caught a duckling after it the other day. It doesn't run or anything just lets them pick.

Looks like a pullet to me.

So glad I found this thread. I got my first Polish hen last fall. I had always admired the breed, but I am in love with the breed now. Since getting my first Gold-laced hen, a few months ago I added a WC Black Pullet, Self Blue Pullet, WC Blue Pullet, Several Tolbunt Pullets and a Tolbunt cockerel and will be adding Silver-laced to the group in July.

My husband thinks I have gone Polish crazy, which I guess I have but they have the best personalities and are so beautiful. I even bought a seperate coop and built them their own run. They are truely my babies.

Hi fellow Polish lovers! I FINALLY got the Polish babies I have been waiting so long for and so glad I did. I also picked up silkies and a friend gave me 3 sizzles. They are the cutest little things and love to follow me around or perch on my legs and feet while out in the coop. They are just starting to really develop and I am already counting about 4 roos.

I wont know what genders the silkies are for a while yet and I pray they all turn out to be pullets!

Really hoping all the boys get along but I may need to move/sell some of them. Not sure I can because I am so attached!

Here is one of the "buff laced" at about 3 weeks. :)

Hey guys!
When I placed my order with McMurray, they threw in a free, unsexed, exotic chick. Of course, I was assuming it would be one of the not-so-cool exotics, but I was wrong... We figured out that we have what seems to be a Silver Polish.
Unforunately..it hates me. I mean honestly, almost all 15 chicks in my brooder come running when I bring out the yogurt. This one stays in the corner and gives me the stink eye. And every time I pick it up, it screams like I'm killing it! BUT today it did let me hold it, without complaining, for the first time. So that's good, right? :)
Since this little thing was straight run, we obviously don't know if it's a boy or a girl. At what age will I be able to tell?

Here's a couple pictures...It is a week old now.

don't worry my first sl polish would not let me touch her at first either but now that she is an adult she is the sweetest thing in my coop.

Omg
