I have to talk POLISH!

Hi- I'm kind of new to Polish (I've had Polish for a year, but am now thinking of breeding them. I showed Silkies last year, and this year want to show both. Anyway, since I haven't seen many chicks, I'm wondering if this buff laced is bearded? I bought 10 chicks, don't know if the parent's were bearded, forgot to ask. Thanks! Pam

yes that's bearded.

Whooo hoooo! Thanks!

As far as I know, Candy Corn is simply a made up name used by some breeders. I don't think is it an approved name or color. The use of the Candy Corn name is an example of people trying to come up with names that are more appropriate since "Crele" is really not accurate. I've seen other names like Confetti and Barred Tolbunts being used.

Crele Polish should not be called Crele but since that is what the breed club calls them Creles we are kinda stuck with it, unless they come up with a more appropriate name.

I think you and I started working on crele close to the same time. One problem is we have not been actually given a standard to go by. All I have had to use as a guide is the advice of judges the past 3 years. And they said that more than likely the standard will be the same as what it used for the Crele OEs.And we will probably be stuck with the name crele for a long time just like those of us who breed porcelain silkies have been waiting endlessly for them to be accepted and correctly named. Now...you mentioned the non-sexing...surprisingly my last generation are auto sexed. I have hatched over 150 to make sure and they have not failed yet. This whole thing is frustrating and at times I wonder if I am just wasting time when I could work on another breed but at the same time I hate throwing away all the time,,money..and effort I have put into it. Mine are breeding true but...does it matter if the name and standard is still in limbo? If the breed association calls them crele is that not what we would call them?
