I have to talk POLISH!

He is beautiful! We have hatched eggs from our GL rooster and Red Star hens. Some of the babies came out with an interesting splash coloring, and the others have a beautiful gold pattern emerging. They aren't adults yet so I can't tell how they will lay, but so far I am very happy with them. Hope yours turn out just as pretty as your boy!

Thank you! Just curious...is the topknot dominant? Can I expect his kids to have some kind of tuft on their heads? That would just be too cute!

I don't know but I have a Polish hen about 4-5 years old who has just started to sleep in a tree.  I don't know why either
They certainly are a strange bread jazzy is my only polish at the moment but I'm going to try and get her a couple of friends, this is jazzy in her favourite sleeping spot lol

If you mix a crested bird with a non-crested bird, the result will be some variety of head plumage but not as much as if both parents are crested.

If you mix a silkie which is a crested bird, most offspring will have some type of crest and most will have darker skin and five toes.

I am so looking forward to having little Grandpeeps with little tufts on their little noggins next spring!
