More specifically I meant are there certain varieties that aren't being specified that are muffed/bearded as opposed to varieties within the breed that are not?

Some one can correct me if i'm wrong i'm not an expert on this subject but as i understand it there are only the two varieties bearded and nonbearded the different color are not separate varieties just different color patterns. some of my polish are the same color patter some have bards some do not.

Likewise. Most of mine are bearded but some are not.

With my golden laced polishes, the majority have beards but that could just be me. I like the look of the bearded roos, not so much on the hens. On the bantam buff polish hen, the beard looks adorable. Same with her splash bantam polish rooster

No, there are Bearded and Non-Bearded varieties!!

There most definitely are bearded and non-bearded varieties, and they are easy enough to breed true separately. I highly prefer bearded over non as personal preference, but have both and show both.

both of my gold laced girls are non bearded and my roo was bearded. I like bearded better in the roo especially because they don't get frost bite on there wattles like the non's i ordered some from a hatchery and got a mix of non and bearded but i defiantly like bearded better.

nope, there are two varieties bearded and non, but they come in different color patterns.

Any variety can have the gene for beard/muff. I'm not sure if all recognized colour/pattern varieties for polish are recognized in bearded/muffed or not.

I'm so excited! My Tolbunt eggs arrived this morning, I am adding silver and gold laced from my girls, so I will have 23-24 eggs going in the incubator tomorrow morning! Hubby thinks I have lost my mind, I'm smiling at eggs sitting on the counter.
