I have to talk POLISH!

The only problem I've had with my whites coloring is whentheir diet had more of a corn content than what it should have. Then they tend to yellow out.

Bantam. As far as closely related, not much more so than other bantam varieties. Whites, to my knowledge, were imported to luisiana before some of the old timers started working on creating the bantam lines using LF polish and a bantam outcrosses. But from talking to some of the old breeders, whites have been outcrossed here and there since then to add a little diversity.

Hey if I could actually find breeders of LF bearded Silver Laced I'd go for some eggs!! But, I've yet to really find something good let alone anything at all. However someone bought a rooster from the Ohio Nationals a little while ago, golly, if they were breeding him to a worthy hen or two or three I'd LOVE some eggs this summer.

Agreed though Josh, and I believe we discussed the laced rarity before too, it's sad honestly, and I believe a lot of it reflects on ease of showing. Even in breeds like Araucanas, whites and blacks are more common though less impressive IMO because they're easier to show.

And chocolate (dun) cuckoos -

Sorry, agreed there too.

And he is a mixture of GL and what? Can't remember if you said. I, too, would suck at culling seriously enough to be a good breeder. I am just gonna piddle along with mine too.

I have NO idea what cross he's from. I don't/can't cull, and do not want to be a serious breeder. He is cute tho.

I've been told that too much direct sunlight will cause this yellowing, is this true?

Yes, that can happen too, but our whites aren't out in the direct sun. The yellowing we got on them was from the corn in the feed.
