If you suspect egg bound you can soak her in a nicely warm bath of water for 20 minutes or so and gently massage her from the front to the back. The heat seems to help relax them and they frequently will lay the egg within a few hours or so. Good luck!

Thank God you went the chick route and not the egg route. I wont bring up my experience again.

The egg route often means better quality though, and often a cheaper price if you get from a good source at the right time. I'm not meaning to brag but my Polish have yet to let me down, I've honestly never been more satisfied with shipping rates than with my Polish. Granted they are indeed a mix, but, it's a better mix than getting "pure" stock of "good" quality from hatcheries for chick shipping prices. Just my opinion. Although if you're looking purely for a LF bearded Silver or Gold Laced birds, yeah, chicks vs eggs, they're both the same except you get more various odds with chicks, since so few people breed LF bearded non-Buff Laced.



Btw, decided to show her off. One of my Tolbunt pullets. At first she looked like a mottled, but the older she gets (she's pretty young) the more and more true lacing pops in. She gets prettier every day.
