I have to talk POLISH!

Any guesses on the sex of my 4 four week old bantam Polish chicks? I think I am seeing 2 boys and 2 girls. The two boys come right up to check me out but the two girls stay in the background.

Girls?

Boys?

The whole gang :) Boys in front, girls in the back? Polish have the most endearing personalities!

I agree...but I saw the video of the blue one crowing.

Tina, can you get pics of the blue one from the back of the head, including the back of neck and back?

The head looks very much like a girl, but with him still being young, his streamers might not be in yet.
I did get his mother from a top breeder so that might explain his beautifully round head.
He/she is not quite 2 months old so the streamers and hackle feathers will still take a bit.
But females have crowed before so maybe wait a bit longer to rehome him...just in case.

Anne, I'm sorry that I haven't been able to get the pics yet. Been very hectic the last few days.

I have to share that tonite when I checked on the chickens around 10:30pm...the WC blue and WC black were both missing! I nearly had heart failure. The LF girls were all in one huge pile and the silkies were in another pile...but the polish were gone. I used my iPhone flashlight to search high and low but those birds were nowhere to be found. So, I dragged my hubby outside to help me look...and low and behold, he actually found them. The little stinkers were happily roosting in the rafters of the coop! They were right above my head the whole time I had been looking for them. I'm lucky they didn't poop on my hair! What a relief to find them.:D

Hey everyone out there...I have lurked here for 1 1/2 years...I am amazed by the Polish variations I see here and am in awe of so much!!! I want to start with the basic...A pair of White Crested Black Polish...the problem I am having is a distant neighbor is wanting to "councel" me and offer BEARDED White Crested Black Polish... I have honestly never seen this...is this an accepted version of standard? I am just totally confused from looking and watching and wanting to get a good start...Honestly...the "bearded" part refering to the White Crested Black Polish is confusing me....can you guys/gals offer any commentary on bearded polish at all?...A BIG THANKS in advance!!!! (I honestly have never really heard of any bearded Polish...)

I'm glad you found them. Polish come out of the egg wanting to roost. It might be too late to unteach them to roost in the rafters but it sounds like it's time to add a roost in the coop. I usually start with a low roost and then raise it as they grow. Except for silkies. I just keep it low. The polish are good for teaching silkies to roost.

I'm not sure, but I think that bantam polish come in the bearded WCB variety.
ETA I just checked the Bantam Standard from the American Bantam Standard and Bearded WCB is an accepted variety.

Really? I got him is a st run mix. I thought Hawks was a mutt. To bad the drive takes so long. I am heading to Ok today. The heat is to much to bring him along though. I am surprised no one wants him. I just don't want my kids to have to eat them. My daughter has resigned that they are going to die and is telling everyone she meets we are eating our roos. Literally had this conversation with a friend I had not seen in 3 year. "Hey how have you been? ""Great! How are those weeds you call kids" My daughter"We are going to eat my chickens because Mommy says we have to many Roos!"Question eyes from my friend...Me"I am selling them online. If they don't sell they are going in the freezer." "OH!! I understand! LOL!"
