I Hit the Eggshell Mother Lode

I put mine in a pot of boiling water on the stove top. Boil for 20 minutes and drain through a strainer. Lay in the sun to dry. Never had sticking issues.

I use a microwave. Microwaves are great for killing germs. I wrap them loosely in a damp paper towel and micro until the paper towel is nearly dry. Then the shells are dry and crispy and ready to feed. They are dry enough to store well too.

You have to watch closely so the paper towel doesn't dry out and burn, though. Trust me, the smell of that is memorable.

Might not work well with your quantity of shells, though.

Picked up another bag of eggshells at McDonalds about an hour ago.
The world went around a lot faster this time. I lined the pan with aluminum as "steffpeck" suggested and filled it with unwashed eggshells. Stuck 'em in the oven for 30 minutes on 450 degrees. Took 'em out; put 'em in a bag with the others, and, Voila, Done!

BTW, Anne's so proud of me. For the first time ever, I turned on the oven, set the temperature and the time.
