Several years ago I somehow signed a 2-year contract with Dish Network without fully realizing what I was doing.
I resented that service for the whole two years and couldn't wait until the time I could cut it off. The day before the 2-year contract was up I called them and told them to come and pick up their equipment. That was 17 months ago and since then all we've had is Netflix and Hulu. We were paying $75/mo for the Dish, and dropped to $15/mo for Netflix, with free Hulu, and every member of the family at one time or another commented "I LOVE this". Its not often you can cut services and costs and make everyone happier than they were before! Now we can watch our favorite TV shows and movies without having to fast forward through the commercials, and our recordings aren't interrupted by thunderstorms. The once concession we made to being able to watch real TV was to get a Roku box (one time purchase). So now we can watch Netflix on the TV, except without the commercials. My kids sit there watching sitcoms and dramedys and all the rest, just like we have TV - except we don't.
