so im hoping all three develope and i need to know if the egg is to lay naturally and i put an x on one side and an 0 on the other and turn 3 times a day or do i put it in like a paper egg carton standing up with an x on the pointier end and an o on the rounder bottom part im not to sure about that so please help clear that up i really hope this works i got a thermo today and its pretty good so hopefully its ok im not going to rely to much on the humidity im going to put a small bowl of wate in there with a cloth and not worry to much about that but hopefully it works

If you use a egg carton you would want to put the big end up, and not turn them. You can also lay down on side and mark them x & o and turn 3x a day if you ca 4x.I still new at this put i have been doing alot aof reading on byc and their are alot of really smart people on here to help you ou. Good luck.

I just made a homemade incubator 2 weeks ago i used the egg carton and many say put a little hole at the bottom of each egg spot to ventilate the air and put the eggs in pointy end down. out of my shipped eggs in there right now on day 13 i have 5 of 6 growing the 6th one I'm not sure its too dark of an egg and looks like my darn rooster doesn't know how to do his job all of our eggs from our hens look to be not fertile!

i think if i dont have to turn them it would be easier and im very forgetfull and right now the tempature was at like 70 degrees c roughly 130 degrees f so i raised the light and put the bowl in maybe moister will help the temp

its a 60 watt and i ust had to move it closer it wasnt hot enough it was on 25 degrees f i moved it about an inch and a half down so hopefully that will work

try a 40w bulb the 60w is way to hot. i used a 40w because the 25w was not hot enough and the 60w to hot. good luck

i dont have a 40 watt and i spent the money on the thermo it was expensive the 60 watt is proving to be not hot enough cause i ust had to lower it again its been almost 20 minutes and i believe and its still only 40 degrees

i might try a 40 watt if i find a dollar floating around here. i just had to lower the 60 watt even more to get a higher temp right now its only at 60 its going to be a battle but i want to win this one
