I just got her/him?

The local animal control picked up this chicken and we were able to adopt it as no one claimed her.

She is much smaller than the other ones we have and there will obviously be some pecking order to sort out.

I would like to know if anyone could identify the breed for me.

I think her earlobes are a peas soup green.

Those are white ear lobes, and she is, in fact, an Ancona

The other chickens really got after her today and plucked all the feathers from the back of her head and neck. My wife and I washed it with a Epson salt solution and applied an antibiotic ointment.

I moved her into a run by herself next to the other run. They can all see each other but no contact. Hopefully that will ease the transition.

If you can find another lone chicken to be her friend in the run, or take one of your more mellow friendly ones and put it in with her, it might be easier to reintroduce them as a pair vs. a singleton. Excuse my run on sentence
