LOL, I also saw siting and thought sitting. Probably why I didn't catch it is that my sister and I as kids would be allowed to sit on my grandfather's black Angus bull, LOL. So, it was just part of my experience.

So glad you are ok. Yes unfortunately you should now plan on posting no trespassing signs on the rest of your property lines. Too many idiots out there hunting don't understand the proper safety that it requires. It is people like these that give us hunters a bad reputation. I have hunted for years and passed up MANY shots, because I was not sure where the bullet would go if I missed.
We always shut the dogs up during rifle season just in case someone mistook them for a deer. Kept the horses closer to the house too. I can't believe the nerve of some people, my husband was hunting our bottomland and saw someone cross our fence, when he went to ask what they were doing, they told him they were hunting on their property and for him to leave.
Later that same week someone pulled into our drive ( 1/4 mile long) telling me they were hunting, after getting permission from the owner. I told them I was the owner and the only people hunting here would be me and my husband. Luckily for me the dogs had already let me know someone was coming up, and I just happened to be outside standing at the tailgate of the blazer with my 30-30 right beside me. These 2 old boys didn't even get a chance to pull their guns out of the truck. Needless to say they left.
Please be careful, and thank God you are safe.

Trisha, sooo glad your fine. Last week we had 4 coyotes on our property, DH shot at the leaders feet as there were houses behind them. People need to pay attention . One of the first hings I learned when learning about guns is to ALWAYS know where your bullet will end up!
I have a friend that her and her husband will no longer hunt in our area because the keep running into mexicans from the city that have their whole family with them and even the small children are armed!! You know people like that do not have a license.
Do definetly contact the game warden, they WILL do something about this. Hunting is not a police problem.

In Wisconsin this year a teen ager was shot by his grandpa. The kid was on the ground hunting, and had gone and gotten a brown blanket from the car to wrap himself in to keep warm.
Another kid had a bullet come through the windshield of the car he was sitting in that was parked in the parking lot at a public hunting grounds. He was not hit, it just sailed through the car.
It is amazing the # of people who do not practice common sense while hunting.

what a moron...he could have killed you or someone in your house.
speaking of stray bullets killing people, this just happened here the other day. the woman was 29 yrs old, asleep in her bed and was hit and killed by a stray bullet
