Still don't have any more pips, but the one is working on zipping. It rested for quite a while after making the first pip, so I was getting worried, but it's back at it this morning. I'm going to give the others another day before I candle.
Congrats on all the hatches, so far! Can't wait to see some fuzzy butt pics!
Well we all watched a second one hatch right before we went to run our errands, and when we got home we found a third had hatched out, and a fourth is pipped. Now I'm pretty pumped up! While I was at wal-mart I bought a big styro cooler to build the clean version 2 of this one. I'll be pretty dang happy if four are all that hatch, but I can't help but hope for the fifth one too. I'm so addicted now!
Hello, I set mine the 21st also. Yesterday two hatched, but the rest are all sitting quietly. Today I moved the two out as they are walking all over the eggs in there and I am not sure about that. It is my first brood of chickens, but I have hatched parrots and button quail over the years.
Do they take days to hatch all out?
My easter eggers are what I want to see. The two that hatched are RI Red.
It is hard to wait. I have 3 of 5 hatched and waiting on a fourth this morning. My fifth egg doesn't show any pips so after number four makes it out and dries up I think i'm gonna take them out and move to the brooder.
I had to break the cardinal rule and open the incubator this morning. One of the 3 that hatched yesterday had got on top of my therm/hygro and got over the wall that divides the egg rack from the light bulb. He was stuck underneath the sixty watt light bulb. I got the bathroom steamy and opened it in there. I hope I didn't shrinkwrap #4.
Anyway, welcome to the thread terryqui, keep us posted on your progress.

Shrink wrap? I have opened my incubator. I did it when the eggs were at the last three days and took them all out of the turner and placed them flat in there.
I have never heard that word. Could I have killed them? My goodness, I did not realize they were so fragile.
I raise birds and check on them when the eggs start hatching. The mom will move off the eggs. I have taken them out to candle at the end and they still make it.
