I keep having these dreams

I think that they are simply stress dreams. You've just finished up the semester, had toe rag to deal with and have upcoming holidays. You have a lot going on, so it is working itself out in your dreams. I have the same sorts of dreams when I am stressed, and often when I have PMS.

It also has to do with your relationship with your dh being the most important one in your life. If he wasn't important, these dreams wouldn't bother you so much. I know when I have these dreams, the feelings are so immediate and real that they can linger, and have me feeling upset for awhile.

You guys are probably right. We had that whole soot event and the incredible stress it brought up right smack in finals and holidays.......

I guess it is my mind thinking about the worst possible thing that could go wrong in my life is to lose DH.

I agree mostly with MomsFolly. Stress dream, definantly. But it might be one of your biggest subconcious worries too. Kinda like one of those 'things are so good something is bound to happen' kinda things. Like your subcoucious is waiting for the other shoe to drop.
 
Remembered dreams are remnants of the work that your unconscious mind has been doing during your sleep time. It checks, logs, processes and files all of your waking thoughts and experiences. You can buy books that claim to tell you the meaning of your dreams and people may give you their own interpretation but you should ignore them all. Only you can interpret your dreams.

Do you use meditation? It's a good tool for relaxing mind and body but also opens your unconscious while you are awake. Take some quite time and listen to your mind without consciously analysing or commenting to yourself. Just ask for the meaning of your dreams to be made clear in the right way and it will eventually come to you.
 
We were talking about this whole thing yesterday.

Once upon a time I worked an extremely high stress job where literally people's lives hung in the balance of the decisions I made under duress. And I was rock calm.

Now the slightest thing gets me all flustered and upset. I get overwhelmed really quickly. I was wondering what made the difference. And I think having kids and the hormones did alot of it, I had a very severe post partum depression which I think altered my brain.

Then I really thought through what I used to do before kids!

OMG! I meditated regularly. I had a half hour long bedtime routine. I had this ritual I did when I felt overwhelmed. And the boundaries between work and home were clear in those days. Unless I was on-call, when I went home I was home!! I worked out, I got decent amount of sleep.

Those days are LONG gone!!! I have to figure out a way to slip at least some of that back into my schedule.........

That's great! You have your own answer. Go back to meditating and let it work itself out.​
 
Agreed! Your psyche is screaming for some time to just be yourself. Create your own time and you willl be better for yourself and the rest of the world. You deserve it.
