I know it isn't a chicken . . .

Please realize that this is a wild duck and keeping it breaks a Federal law.

I really hope the feds have more important things to do.

I don't think its a big issue.....you could always just say that it flew into your yard one day and never left! LOL!!

He is just SOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, she's either a Goldeneye or a Bufflehead, I SERIOUSLY can NOT tell the difference between your pic and this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pattybruno/711195070/ and Penelope looks just like both of those babies!!!

I am definitely keeping her, despite the questionable legality of my doing so. How could I not?!

I'm off to the yard to gather up some chickweed to feed her (she has non-medicated chick starter, too) and later I will hop on over to the lake and gather her up some soggy lake greens.

I'm hoping Tori's duckling pulls-through so she can have a buddy . . .

the bufflehead does not look like your duck, that flicker pic is not correct!

Adorable! I can't wait till i can find someone who has a bunch of different breeds of ducks like 6-7-8 breeds so i can order hatching eggs from them. Currently i only have Blue Swede,Pekin, and Cayuga but i am definetly looking forward to getting different breeds:lol:. if you find more of these guys or any other ducklings that need a home tell me!

Like everyone said it is illegal to have since its wild caught. For more information try GBWF ( http://gbwf.org/phpBB3/index.php?sid=7bb6544c4aa22b4d5056e1b92c95aa19 )they have information and helpful people there. Also for those that want the species there are breeders there and I also have the contact info of alot of breeders of exotic and wild waterfowl, they arent too expensive either.
