Its a weird time to hatch chicks' but my hen got broody so … and I want chicks lol I will get some pics tomorrow if possible,i have 5 Guinee eggs and 4 chicken eggs.i really want some young Guinee's.let me know what you think about me hatching eggs at this time of year thanks

My local farm store is selling chicks this week, and it was three years ago Aug. 25 that I got my two Sapphire Gems from the same store.

My broody just hatched a clutch, and I put some quail eggs in the bator 2 days ago, so I don’t think it’s late at all!

I just got 18 chicks from a hatchery, they were 2 weeks old Monday. This is a GREAT time to do chicks, IMO! I usually get them in March and then I'm brooding them in March and April, often the coldest time of the year! This batch will go outside probably next week already and should start laying, I hope, in January or February - when my older hens typically quit for the winter. We'll see, anyway!
