so have all these posts helped you and if u have any questions about feed put it in the feeding and watering you flock forum. and if and when u do hatch an egg u will need chick feed
i agree, i think it must be a joke. but i'll give my two cents anyways. first, you cannot hatch an egg with a mom sitting on it or an incubator. i built my own incubator and i'm 15. it cost me about $20 and most of it was made with scrap wood we already had. second, you should really research everything before you decide to take on an animal. the animal depends on you completely and its not fair to it if you do not care for it properly. that includes proper food, shelter, and water. if you can't provide them these things, you really shouldn't have them. scratch is not sufficent food. i would recommend not hatching eggs until the chickens you have now are taken care of. if you can't afford building a cheap incubator, then how would you be able to care for the babies? do you have a coop for your chickens? do you clean it? do they have bedding? are they protected from the weather, if its snowing, raining or too cold? you need to take care of you chickens first before you try and get more. also, if you were to hatch a dove or anything, it needs its own house. it would also need a friend. they require a lot of care, are you ready to spend the time to do that? take everyone's advice on here. they are all very knowledgable and ready to help you the best they can.
also....why would you be up at 4??? that makes me think its a joke even more.
anyways, go take care of your chickens. and don't buy more eggs until you are ready for them. and when your chicken starts laying, her eggs won't hatch. you need a rooster for that. if you were to get a roo, you would need more hens to keep them safe. he could hurt them.
You mean on the side of the yolk?? That is the chalizae, it is like a small cord on each side of the yolk that attaches it to the shell. Every egg has them, some are just stronger then others.
I had a link on my old somputer with pictures of egg anatomy, but I cant find it on here. Google 'chicken egg coloring pages', you should be able to find it.
