I like bacon

It comes out drier, crisper and curls up.

I asked a woman I work with, who has vegetarian all her life, if cooking bacon smelled good to her. She said "No, It smells like grease."

this was a recipe that is thick pieces, not cut like at the deli, and then rolled in batter and deep fried. good golly.

She said she liked the veggie burgers and the tofu hotdogs, but they had nothing that tasted like good ole bacon.

i KNOW! we did two pigs last year and the bacon was worth the stink again this year. i hate them pigs. there i said it. hate hate hate! i hated them darn pigs all last summer too. i can still smell 'em... and now these new ones are stinkin' it up too. ick!

...however now i smell 'em on the stove. i'm havin' green beans and BACON!

hey eggs4sale - did you dress them yourself and cure/smoke the bacon?

They're still pigs. They still stink.

I've never ever had home-grown bacon, but I'm really looking forward to eating those pigs.

We raise a few steers for eating, and we have the butcher do the slaughtering and butchering, but we're planning on doing the pigs ourselves. Unless they get even stinkier, in which case there will be a stink force field around them and they'll die of old age. Then they'll REALLY stink!
