That's exactly it!!! You just summed me up. I'm southern and I speak slow and I live life slower than most people and I love it that way. It's good to know that I'm not the only one that takes life less than as serious as other people do. I'm not on this earth to make a million. I'm here to live and love and that's it. I wish I was born in the "good ole days". Things were so much simpler then. The way they should be.

I really would like to met yall. I know wolfpacker is not more than 20 minutes from me. Send me an email. I'll check out your coop and you can check out mine. Did that sound weird? You know what I mean.

I totally agree with the both of you. Thou it would be hard to go back to a time where my stereo doesn't make me deaf!

So you wana CHECK (Sure) Wolfpackers Coop

I had Cathy call me one day (Homecatmom). My Brother goes its some weird lady from your chicken forum thingy hahaha. Some people will just never understand.

OK I'm gona shut up I am rambling, why do I do that gah...

Southern,

With your sweet personality and sense of humor it’s hard to believe you don’t have friends! I think everyone on the forum eagerly anticipates your next post.

I think a lot of people wish for simpler times, I know I do.

After sitting here this morning, and reading these posts..I just have to say......Birds of a feather flock together. I LOVE THIS FLOCK!

My DH knows....when I start the conversation with... " Oh, this person posted on BYC" He just shakes his head...LOL He does love to hear all of the funny stories tho...he would never admit it to " the guys" tho. LOL

Southern28Chick, if your DH ever has a reenactment in Chattanooga, let me know ahead of time. If I can, I'll drive down and meet you and we can do the aquarium there and other local sites while he plays.
The Chatt. Aquarium is really cool. Not a Ripley's thing, but more with local fish and such. Fun to watch the guys drool over the trout exhibit, and the gianormous catfish.

We love you too southernchick! I love this board so much. I have been on ALOT of message boards over the years and this one is by FAR the best. It has the nicest, most helpful people I've ever met online.

I also want to thank everyone whos helped me with my questions and I know my chickens thank you too! I don't know what I would've done without this board. I worry so much about every little thing and you guys put my mind at ease.

It is a cozy forum, is it not?
I'm old school myself, my memories of farm days, picking eggs, (as we called it) milking cows, hauling hay... these are things that molded me for life now. Responsibility! I love talking with others that have that type of life experience.
There aren't too many people who don't mind chickie puddin on their porches etc. If people look at me like I'm crazy I say..."Wet'em wook doc!" It's the little things in life that we all tend to overlook and take for granted, the love of our families, a cool drink under a shade tree, night sounds like crickets discussing their day, and yes a chicken forum that enlightens and educates us.

He belongs to the 2cdNC and the Stonewall Brigade. I can go to the 2cdNC'c eneactments but I usely don't, I have to stay home and care for my animals. I can't go to the Stonewall ones because they are strickly men only, they try to make it real.
I've been to Fort Branch here in NC about 3 times. The first time I dressed up and I hated it. The last 2 times I just wore regular clothes. Fort Branch is an all weekend long thing. It's in November and very cold. We just drink with a bunch of guys and then sleep outside beside the camp fire. It's fun. Then during the day the men get up to march through the woods and then have a battle in the open field with guys on horses and they shot canons and stuff.

Here's some pictures:

They do the reinacting here too, was at Gettysburg,Pa last spring, and had a buch of groups from different states there, I enoy the camping and sitting around the campfire, but the geting dressed up does nothing for me, Though we(the scouts) did get to shoot the gins Muzzle loader that was COOOOOL, it doesn't take much to make me happy its easier that way. Now that I think about it the ones here in elkton were Revolutionary reinactors, they did the same stuff though marched and shot then shot bunch of stuff out of artillery cannons
