size them, truely, but have learned to eyeball them to know what makes a heavy LARGE cartonfull so buyer gets a heavy lg. dozen. Nobody has complained but some have not come back(altho there ARE people in the area selling cheaper than myself, I believe)And I have regulars that obviously return again and again. I will ? them if I can remember to do so. Just curious. My son got a scale(scientific type expensive thing, at auction for $2) so we have played with it a few times and I know what my eggs weigh, pretty much by sight. And for what I charge they would STILL be getting a good deal,IMO. I get annoyed often because I can't seem to keep enough eggs for US to eat(altho we eat the 1 hen ducks eggs as she is producing big time now). So I am tempted to raise price but just take my EGG sign down when I am overwhelmed with people wanting eggs.

I used to sell large/x-lrg dozens and jumbo dozens a couple years ago but it just took too much time weighing them and I had too many medium sized eggs left in my fridge.

I just sell my dozens with a good amount all sizes so that everyone generally gets the same thing.
I put the larger eggs in the back row of the dozens and smaller ones in the front row. That way I can get rid of some of the larger pullet eggs too. (If I have pullets at that time.)

Nobody has complained so far except for one of my co-workers' husband who is hard to please in the first place. That's just too bad.

I'm getting 4+ dozen a day right now and have absolutely NO problems selling them. In fact I'm more likely to run out than anything, but not enough room for more chickens!

The U.S.D.A. has six sizes when classifying egg sizes. The chart below shows what their information is, based on their United States Standards, Grades, and Weight Classes for Shell Eggs. This should give you an excellent answer for both types of measurements, weighing per dozen and per egg. Personally, I'd just weigh per dozen, unless you have significantly different egg sizes between hens.

Exactly! I already know the weight chart(TY Demosthine!) and its a ton of work seperating/pricing differently so went w/my own thoughts on given the price is cheap(IMO)and I would be please to buy a dz. eggs for $2.50 that are a heavy large. And this way possibly my own family gets to eat some(chickens pay for their feed is about all it is). And I only get up to 2 dz. a day and its a lot of work.

I think your problem is.... You need more chickens! Of course you know the size/feel of your eggs. We all do. Some people appreciate "fresh" eggs Yet some appreciate useless, "cheap" eggs they lable as fresh.

There will Always be someone complaining...then they should not buy your eggs.

Just so you know....Some people don't come back to buy eggs...They think they are au de blah blah natural and want fresh eggs and then turn into wusses and won't eat them because they are fresh and "taste funny even though they didn't eat them".... Losers.

It still hurts me, but ............. I KNOW I'M BETTER THAT THEM. hahaha jk...but not
