When you adjust the temperature up or down on an LG, also, you should almost not feel the dial move. It takes a very very fine adjustment to bump it the degree or two that you need. I found that my LGs only appeared to be perfectly stable using the alcohol thermometers they come with, too. A digital thermometer reveals that they fluctuate between a high and low end. I try to keep my high end at 102 at the most and the low end...I worry if it gets lower than 98 or 99.
Next hatch, I am going to add some flat rocks to the bottom of the incubator and let them warm up before I add in eggs. I've heard that helps the temperatures. I will also get spikes, btw, almost immediately after I set eggs in my LGs.
