I made a Whizbang Plucker--Worked Great !!

good evening, just an update on my first wbp,, I felt that I was working too hard and taking too long to get the fingers installe into those tight holes.. So I designed and built myself a plucker finger puller. and it works slicker than snot on a doorknob.. I even let my wife and my brother try it out.. they both had no trouble with it..

I made it out of scrap wood and four decking screws..

curious ???????

Please, please. Description, plus pictures. I am in the process of gathering parts, and any help with finger pulling would be much appreciated.

OK, I will take pictures and I can also send you a drawing in a private email.. would you have a problem reading a drawing?? I do not want to post drawings online..
I don't know if something like this has a patent or something..

It is cold out today.. but I finished the plucker and just had to try it out.. so we cornered two roosters and a duck and did the deed,..

Let me tell you, to pluck a duck clean in less than 30 seconds (or any amount of time) without touching it is like heaven..

It is a lucky thing for the birds that it is so cold out or there would be a lot more of them missing from the flock today..LOL

I did not forget about the finger puller.. the one I built is not a pretty sight,, It is all rough wood and looks like a prehistoric club,,

I will build a new one and clean it up a bit..

just updating a bit..

I built another plucker finger puller. I made a few changes in it..
I did not forget about you guys and gals.

I went to the neighbors today to look at a home-made plucker they made..

I got a few ideas from them..

they cut one side out of a furnace blower and put the plucker fingers in place of the fan.. then they attached a bag to the outlet to catch the feathers..

they used discarded milk machine inflators.. It seems that the milk inspectors make the dairy farmers change out their inflators pretty regularly.. the farmers just throw them away..

I noticed that some of you were making pluckers out of bungie cords.. I suggest you track down a couple of dairy farmers and beg the inflators from them..

I am going to try to get some and make a whole whizbang out of them.. (at a savings of $100.oo)

We have a milking operation about 5 miles from us that milks 24/7.. 20 cows at a time.. I think they have 3000 cows to milk each day.. I would imagine they go through a good number of inflators in a years time.
