This is so very devastating to my daughter and I. Can anyone offer suggestions on what is wrong?
I hatched out 51 quail Friday night and Saturday morning. I have about 10 left. They all seemed fine for the first 12 hours then some would start to act a bit neurological. They would tuck their heads and loose balance finally falling over. As they become worse they lay on there side. If they get knocked over they struggle to get up but cannot regain their feet.
I took some to a vet. They are sending them off to the state lab to get tested.
I have had no problems with the chickens or with some 2 and 3 week older quail. All the quail are still in the house and I do not want to let them near the chickens at this point. All the chickens were raised in the house and I still have around 25 chickens in a separate room that are ready to go out.
Do you have any suggestions or thoughts?
I do not know how long it will take the state to get results.
These were to be my daughter's 4-H project for the next few years and our breeders and supper.
