I moved them out to the coop!! I am freakin!

You did fine. The first night mine were in the coop I spent more time walking out there than I did sleeping

There were just fine and have been ever since. (I did say many a prayer for them though).

Lol. I just had the same "freak out" a couple nights ago, We moved 7 of our biggest month olds out to the coop the night after a hard rain, and of course, it got cold and foggy. They did fine, and my dbf put the rest of them out for their first night tonight. We did set up a "bedroom" for them ... a turned over rubbermade tub with some straw and a heat lamp, but I think they stayed up all night partying.

They all have done fine, and seem to be enjoying the extra roaming room.

It's like sending your kids off to college for the first time.

glad u posted this i was going to say please please double check the heat lamp It will be fine and they will love all the room.

Yes! That was my greatest concern when putting it out there, I made sure to hang it by the loop (not the clamp) on a hook drilled into a 2x4 and also put wire from the lamp to the hook in case there was some issue with the loop. I hung it at 4 feet as high as I could to keep the crazies from getting to close. Yet I am still scared of a fire!

They'll be absolutely fine. Now would be a good time to start weaning them off the heat lamp too. One less thing to worry about is a coop fire.
I turned the heat lamp off for good when my chicks were about 5 1/2 weeks old, we had those nighttime temps. and they were living on the screened porch.

I just moved my babies out to the coop for the first time today too!

I'm thinking I should get to bed so I can be up at the break of dawn to check on them!
Or, maybe I should go back out now.....check that lamp.
