I am assuming your parents said that? Try to impress them instead with knowledge. Tell them how much they eat and what kind of housing they require. And you need to mention they need another chicken friend, as stated above.
That's how I convinced my parents to let me have pets when I was young, I had to study my heart out and prove I could do it. Good luck.

Did someone give you an impossible task? I agree that you need to be knowledgeable and that way defend yourself--if you need defending. My chickens came to me as casualties of human neglect. I didn't really want them but have been doing my best to toe up to the line. Any animal will have certain challenges. If you accept it then you are up to the task. Just be aware that challenges are not for one day, one week, one month...it's that animal's life time.
