There are 10 week old chicks, 8 week old chicks, six week old chicks, three week old chicks and poults, 3 day old chicks, turkeys due the sixth, and ... more eggs waiting... I have three brooders, making a fourth.
Adding a grow out pen to the back yard and working on plans for a new turkey pen/coop.
Getting better at hatching.... has had ummm consequences. I'm beginning to think I need a program. Maybe a fencing program. Maybe a construction program. Possibly a course in large scale poultry farming.
Addictive doesn't even BEGIN to define this thing. Especially once baby turkeys start flinging themselves into your arms to be held and cuddled and talked to, cooing and chirping and looking at your eyes and trying to get close to your face...
Did I mention I NEED a program? I subscribed to the turkeycolorgenetics yahoogroup but you know---- that didn't help. Saving Duckbutt also did not help, now I need a POND BUILDING program.
Middle aged crazy is mild compared to this thing.
I have an Uglybator, a foam hatcher and now a mini-fridge bator in the works. And I'm saving for a Dickey. I really really need a program.
