Exactly!!

It didn't smell like poo, but like shavings with a side-dressing of poo. I thought it was nice and comforting. But then, I was born with the barnyard gene...

I'm fairly sure I got very few genes that weren't barnyard and critter genes. Sadly I got a healthy dose of "rescue" genes, a primary cause of long term poverty but a nice full house of rescue dogs, parrots etc.

The Rescue PROGRAM also does nothing to stop the affliction.

Oh my! *sigh* My name is Patty and I am an addict.

I have the GQf full, and a Hova bator filled with guinea and quail eggs, plus turkey eggs in one of the LGs, eggs waiting for the incubator, and Showgirl eggs on the way. I have to candle to clear out the duds so I can have more space in the bator. I have an LG that is empty, but I need that for a hatcher. I bought the GQF because the three other incubators did not have enough space, and i can't sell them cause....I "NEED" hatchers.

I have about 80 chicks in two huge brooders, turkey pouts, 8 ducklings, a silver pheasant, and a guinea keet. More chicks are set to hatch on Saturday. I do need some help, my husband is sick of building pens. I have 8 now, but need alot more!! Ummm I need help. My family thinks I'm nuts, I tell them I am trying to srart a "business" yeah right! I just want to sell some chicks to help with the feed bill and more eggs!!!

My aunt says I got the barnyard gene and the hound dog gene. Since DH refuses to let us own a dog I always find homes for the babes I find on the side of the road. So far I've been lucky, and always found a loving home for them. Even better, it's been with friends who could tell me how they're doing!
But it sure has been hard a couple of times, when I knew the dog in need was a GREAT potential companion & guard dog. My grandpa bred & raised enough that I can just kinda tell when a special one comes along. Those are the hardest to let go of.
I think fostering would be so cool. Maybe someday when I'm old and lonely. Cause I have longevity genes, too!

Poor DH. He's not into critters. So he got all stressed out when I let DD2 cuddle a scared bunny the cat dragged home. When it was sufficiently rested it hopped out of her lap and ran off, just like I expected. And by then the cat had gotten bored and gone inside. He was ready to hose DD2 down with Lysol before he'd let her into the house! I said I'd done the same thing when I was a kid, and I turned out okay. He was smart enough to keep his mouth shut and just walk away

Come on admit it. You have not hit BOTTOM yet. Each of us has their own "bottom".

Mine came one day when the wife came home from a 2 week adventure.

Here is what she cam home to:

Yep, there were words. The incubator was shut down, the chicks went out to the nursery and various other things happened.

Today, I have a tub of chicks that I bought from the feed store.
RARE breed ya know. Can not have just ordinary breeds. Have to have something special if it is going to be in the house.

She has her Serama chicks. (this is how I got to order ya know).

I have to take out 5 chickens per month from the barn. Either give them away or cull them. Today we are taking a nice polish roo to the taxidermy guy. Her girl friend wants it stuffed for her kitchen.

I know, not what you would expect, but the guy has to go and this way I am assured he will not suffer.

Too many times I find out that the roos i have sold or given away have had a horrid death.

I love my roos and I keep as many as i possiby can, but some are SOOOO aggressive that they just have to go and this guy is one of them.

Bwaahahhhahahahhahaahahaha

Laura just left for a week...................OMG those pictures...

It's a good thing she isn't going to be gone for two weeks.

Really a good thing. Cuz the ladies have the guinea eggs I want.

I'm taking quite a few to the chicken swap this weekend. Mostly cockerals and ones that aren't quite up to snuff. Or that are already irritating. (I hate noisy or contentious chickens.)

I haven't hit bottom but since the bantam brahmas are staying... we are approaching a certain tipping point. I really want LF dark brahmas. REallY. There's a potential for serious overload coming.

Nah.... I have more lumber.

My name is Sharon, and I am and addict AND an enabler.

I raise Standard Cornish, I have 1-2 hens laying so I keep the Brinsea on constantly and for the past 2.5 months put eggs in every 10 days. You know what happens when the incubator is on constantly? I gets filled up. An empty rack is a sad rack.

I personally have maybe 25 chicks 24 eggs in the bator, but my sis now has close to 200 chicks and maybe 60 in the incubator...

We just need to TURN IT OFF, but I can't. There's always more eggs. Future champions waiting to be born! I can't throw one egg away!

We are so strung out on Fuzzy Butt we can't see straight. How do you stop? We must stop....
