I remember the big sod farms. I went to school with the kids that lived on the duck farm in Yaphank. That farm is long gone.
If it's wooded, you could run goats on it, making soap out of the milk. Sell it on eBay. Or learn how to make cheese. With the Hamptons so close, if you came up with a catchy enough logo and shtick, you could do well.

parking storage sounds like a great idea, pumpkins are easy and require little work and sell great, are there campgrounds near by you could sell fire wood.

I am not sure of the exact tree but I believe its called a black walnut tree, This tree alone sells for tons of money. We have a local farmer who won a auction on some land here he was trying to retire and was tapped out at the bank. He got this 5 acres of land that had these trees and now he is very very well off.
I will get the name and number of the farmer if you are interested in the exact trees he sold Its worth a shot I guess.

I like going to flea markets, but JMO I don't think I would pay to get into one. But, I'm a tight wad to! I think you would do pretty good just by charging for the space/table. You could do different size spaces for different prices.

I really like the selling fall decorations idea (pumpkins etc) because that's what I want to do! You could do a pumpkin patch with all sorts of pumpkins, gourds, indian corn, and cornstalks. Maybe plant some apple trees too. I also liked the idea of selling Christmas trees and growing holly and other evergreens that can be used for decorating (cedar, balsam, juniper)....but I would use them to make your own arrangements. Like you could make centerpieces with homemade candles in the center.

Because you are at home, another thing you could get into (that doesn't really use the land at all) would be selling books or other products online.

However, I would actually try to re-think this whole idea. Instead of looking where to make money, I think you should also be looking how you can save money. I would build extravagant gardens to feed your family year round, keep chickens, bees, maybe some goats and rabbits to help eliminate your grocery bill. Buy seeds and start more plants than you need and sell the rest of the started plants to cover the cost of seeds and planting mixes. Raise turkeys, keep some for yourself and sell the rest at Thanksgiving. Clear some of the woods, but instead of selling it use it to heat your own home. If you live near vacation spots where people camp sell bundles of wood so you get some money for your splitting and cutting work.

Look up your town ordinances for planning and zoning and figure out what is legal and what isn't before you start any large projects though.
