I think they handle confinement pretty well. And they're dark (as long as they aren't splash) so if they ever happened to escape the predators would have a hard time finding them (none of mine have been eaten and only one sleeps in the coop). But they may be a little hard to find in bantam, they are rare as it is.

NO they dont they just make some that arent quite so FU-FU. So of the options I would do Cornish or Brahmas

Have you seen a sumatra? Even bantamized they are still manly. Multiple spurs, the face (hard to explain), and not gaudy colors (chickens don't really come gaudy

I'm dying for bantam wyandottes and BR's.

Of all my chickens, my DH has settled on a favorite - the last one he thought he'd choose. He's always disliked the roosters, but he LOVES our silver-laced polish cockerel, Geronimo. Thinks he's the coolest thing ever. Your DH might be surprised and like something funky like that if he gave it a chance...

I would consider any kind of bantam Wyandotte, they have rose combs that won't be frost bit, medium waddles, and look very full bidied and "manly." Seabrights have rose combs, pretty small waddles, but have slender bodies. Sumatras have tiny combs and waddles, look 'manly,' but can be hard to find. also bantam rose comb rir's, and bantam Dominiques would be good to consider, they're sorta 'normal.' Good luck, Jake
