I need advice

Hello everyone, I am in a bit of shock as I write this message. I am in need of medical assistance for a muscovy duck. He is my personal pet and his name is Peggy. This morning I went off to work and the gardeners of my apartment complex were doing their job. I came back home around 6 to find my duck gone. I found him in the back corner of the lake. With his upper beak split open. There is a piece of it missing for the moment. I was able to "tape" it back together as it was simply split open and not much was missing except for a portion of the upper area. I will include some pictures. Warning it is graphic. I am at a loss for what to do. I was considering buying an adhesive bandage of sorts as I remember going to an urgent care myself and they used it on me. However, I do not know if it would work in a scenario like this. If you have anything that you can share or any advice on what I should do. Please help me.

PS: if you notice he stands weird, he was born with one leg. (hence his name )

So you should spray that antibacterial stuff on it if you have any, then put the duck in a calm, dimly lit place to relax. You should watch carefully to be sure it can at least drink, and is eating within a few days. It looks like most of the damage happened in the front of the beak, so I don’t think breathing will be a problem.

Oh poor boy. Looks like he caught his bill in a strimmer as the pieces are splayed. Good advice from @Chicken_tiger_catt Your taping the bill will not harm and might help. I rescue and rehab ducks and had a pekin with a deformed bill -- he had lost the end of his top bill in an attack by a raccoon. I have a muscovy currently that has his bean nearly ripped off. Be assured that once this bill has healed, as long as you feed him with his pellets in a deep bowl, and he has a deep water tub to drink from, he should be OK.

Quick update: we had done some wound care but with no luck due to some blood coming out from the injury. The two outer pieces were dangling so we decided to cut them off. He did not seemed alarmed so that made me feel secure in my decision. And to stop the bleeding for the night we used a rapid bleed stop. Is there any way to tell how long they usually bleed from the beak for? It feels so disheartening to see him so tired. I know it'll grow back and I have seen wild ducks with much worse injuries, it just feel more personal when its your own.

How is he doing this morning @Adrianmax0598 I wonder if medical adhesive would work the super glue kind? Not sure you can get the piece of bill to stay together though.

Morning update: He survived the night! the parts of the bill that were dangling off to the sides had to come off last night. right now he seems to still be a bit shocked or tired. He was able to drink water this morning and he had some very watered down bread.. not the best but its what I had available that would soften quickly. He did not eat much but he was able to eat something which gives me hope . Any advice on medical grade glues that would help? or should i let the wound heal on its own. I also reapplied some of the bleed stop just in case as when he put his bill in the water I couldn't discern between dried blood getting into the water or regular blood ( better safe than sorry)

That is just it whether the biull can be brought together enough to even use the medical grade glue and how to keep it together till it sticks. When you can post a picture of all you have done since you posted last pictures. Poor guy that was some terrible trauma to go through. I believe I would have to talk to the gardeners just to get a feel for what may have happened.
