Good Morning Peeps,

I need some advice please.
I have 6 white leghorns that are 14 wks in the coop. 1 rooster, 5 pullets
3 araucana mixes and 1 black cochin about 7 wks old in a cage in the coop
and last but not least
2- 3 wk old bar rocks on my deck,

I have one decent size coop and when I am home the leghorns free range most of the day.

I would like to get everyone happy in the coop together someday.
What would be the best way to blend these three groups?

Hello! The first thing I recommend, is what you're already doing....you've got the younger ones in the coop, but separated from the oldest. (Except for the onces on the deck). The next step is to allow them to free range together--that way the younger ones can run away from the older, more agressive ones....and lastly, once they are the same size, I would just put them together in the coop.

You will still see some pecking, but it won't be too bad since they're familiar with eachother. They may be rough with eachother for about a week, then all will be well. And it's funny, when they free range, they will hang out in their original groups......

Good luck to you!

I crossfenced my run, built a small coop, and added the younger girls. They were all seperated by the crossfence and were able to get used to seeing each other. Once they had grown to the same size I integrated them.
