My older ducks have been in the pen at night for a year nothing has ever got in ! I don't think have them out here ? I have never seen one in the wild here ! I do have chicken wire in there also !

Well we have to caution folks because after you've been here for a while you hear some awful heartbreaking stories and we don't want others to have to go through it.

Hows the training going with the drake?

Better ! He comes up to say hi ! No longer tries to nip at my legs ! Working well , his attention is on the other females ! ...lol . Thank you

just what we like to hear!!

My male pekin is back to nipping my legs ! I turned around and he caught me right in the calf , it hurt a lot ! I'm about ready to re-home him and keep just the females ! Any ideas ? I would rather keep him !!!!

Nobody has any ideas ? Hmmmn
You need to go back to training him, I can't say enough that they have to be reminded often that they cannot bite or nip. When my drake would forget I would just go back to the broom I'd carry it with me and if he started after me I put the broom between us, You have to be on guard at all times and know where they are. I'd also use the drake dominance hold on him too but main thing is he get the message. I never hit him with the broom but I have been known to sweep him away from me.

I have a Cayuga Drake who is very dominate over his mate, he protects her like no other, sometimes he chases me away after I feed them and he goes after my little dog. I have had him 6 years and have found its always this time of year when he is most aggressive( spring) so try to not fret too much and stay patient with him, come fall he will mellow out:)

Does anybody know how I can get what looks like mildew off her duck bill it has been there for a while ?
