Hey guys so I think I messed up I’m not sure what to do at this point. So I’ll start by saying Long story short this is my first broody hen. She ended up either taking other hens eggs or hens laid ontop of her. So she ended up with a lot of eggs in different stages. After the 4 egg that hatched she gave up on the eggs we had an incubator with some spots left over. Last night I heard chirping in the morning I went to check the incubator and it was peeping. Because the incubator was so full I thought maybe I could try one last time to put the egg with mama to help along. But she did nothing. It looked kinda stuck like it was trying but than giving up. I’ve seen some people take off some parts of the shell. So I thought that it might help it move along, I didn’t peel the membrane just a little part of the shell. What should I do at this point? It’s still cheeping but it almost seems stuck. I’ve come back from work and it’s had almost no progress. Just looks like it’s sticking the beak out and that’s it. What should I do?

I help them! Here's an EXCELLENT guide. Have some coconut oil, bacitracin ointment, or boiled water (kill any bugs/bacteria) to help moisten the membrane. A good pair of tweezers comes in handy for shell removal in little bits. Here's the article, tried and true. I still read it top to bottom before EVERY hatch.
