hello to everyone my name is Kathy,

I am new to Backyard chickens...so I figured I would try here...

I live in Downsville La, small town in North La

I have had chickens for years and I have decided I wanted to try my hand at raising quail; but I am having problems finding any... I have my pen already built... decided to go with a pen that is 12x16...and it is ready.. but I cant find where to get either eggs to incubate.. or baby chicks... I would prefer since I am just now getting started and I have never incubated eggs before I would like to buy baby chicks.... I know when I started raising my chickens I could go buy them in a co-op when they were a week old.. but I cant seem to find any baby quails.. can someone please help me... or at least point me in the right direction.... I have been searching different web sites but they seem to just go around in circles....if anyone can help help me I would appricate it!

thanks,

kathy

There is a section called Buy Sell Trade where you can put a wanted ad and people will reply. I would suggest putting "Quail Wanted" in your thread title so the right people see it and open it up.

If it's chicks you want and not eggs try posting here https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/53/chicks-1-day-to-8-weeks-old

Good Luck and I hope you get what your looking for!

Hi Kathy I have raised different types of quail and pheasants and quail for years.I have taken a break this year and just going to raise impeyans for a couple of years ,before i get back into quail.Isold all my breeders last month. I have went on ebay and bought some eggs with some good results but i always got eggs from 2 different breeders.if you go on ebay ,and put in hatching quail eggs they should have some there now but watch where they are coming from weather wise, so they are not froze where you live down south your alright if you can find a breeder close to you or in a southern state.I live in northern Maine so i wouldnt buy eggs to be sent here intill last of april or may. I have sold and purchased eggs as far as california with great success. Doug

What breeds are you interested in?I will look thru my directory and see if I can find what you are looking for.Whoops never mind, there is no one listing quail at all in La.Maybe I can find them in another state.
