I need help telling what color my homebred chicks are!

So the gold just came from the roo even if he did not show it?

but yeah at least from what i was told. that even though my rooster was pure black and the hen was black silver that the reason my babies had gold was because chickens hold a gold/silver gene and it showed up"

The leakage came from the silkie. Most silkies aren’t bred true to color, so she was able to pass down the gold gene and a pattern (the leakage) that a solid blue normally wouldn’t have.
